Coronavirus - COVID-19

If you have travelled overseas in the last month and have symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat or breathlessness, you may be displaying symptoms of the Coronavirus.

If you have any of the above symptoms, please call the clinic on 9409 5000 and ask to speak with a nurse. Please do not attend the clinic. Patients can also call Health Direct on 1300 555 788.

If you have travelled and you are not experiencing any symptoms, we advise that you still CANNOT attend the clinic. Please phone for further information.


A nurse will best advise over the phone what you need to do or they may transfer you to a GP for further advice. We may provide you with details of your local hospital emergency department and call them on your behalf to advise of your arrival, so that they too can prepare. Testing can also be performed at a COVID-19 screening clinic.

Again, please do NOT attend the clinic, as this will assist in preventing a potential spread of the Coronavirus. The virus can spread quite quickly, please avoid contact with other people, do not go into crowded spaces or on public transport.

If you have cold/flu symptoms and have not recently travelled, we also ask you to call the clinic to get current information. Please do NOT come in until you have spoken to a nurse or doctor.

Telehealth Appointment

On 30.03.2020 due to the Coronavirus outbreak, Medicare via the federal government introduced bulk billed telehealth item numbers for practices to consult all patients to reduce the spread of the virus.

If you are already scheduled to see one of our Doctors, a member of our clinical team may call you to see if you are comfortable with a phone consultation.

Our aim is to keep you in our waiting room for as short a time as possible!   We know that your time is as important as our time, however we acknowledge that emergencies can occur (this is an important part of our business) and if they do, we endeavor to keep you informed of any waiting times you may experience.

Highland Medical Centre has extended well equipped premises with a large carpark to the rear of the practice.


Our Doctors, Nurses, staff and Allied Health Professionals have many years experience working in the health care industry and we pride ourselves in offering our patients a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. All the staff are here to ensure you receive the best possible care for all your family needs.


We are a teaching practice with GP Registrars from the WAGPET Training Program and regular Medical Students from the University of Notre Dame School of Medicine.  We have Chiropractic, Exercise Physiology, Physiotherapy, Dietetic and Psychology onsite and also offer a Australian Clinical Labs Pathology collection service located within the practice.
